In this post I’m exploring two different takes on matching people in two different contexts. First, an app to use on a date to get to know them deeper, and second, a popular tongue-in-cheek swiping dating style app for influencers and companies looking for advert space.
Dating/get-to-know questions app
Relationship questions app (This demo only includes a subset of the full questions dataset)
This prototype progressive web app (PWA) is an experiment in facilitating deeper relationships through structured conversation. The goal is to test whether guided questions can help users navigate social and personal connections more effectively. While the concept is informed by psychological research, including John Gottman’s work on trust and relationship dynamics, not all aspects have been validated yet. This is an early-stage exploration of how digital tools can support interpersonal growth.
The app is built around three core principles: Trust, Attraction, and Values. These elements are foundational to strong relationships, whether romantic, familial, or professional. The app provides weekly curated questions to encourage thoughtful reflection and meaningful conversations.
- Trust: Encouraging Consistent, Positive Interactions
Trust is built over time through small, meaningful interactions. To reflect this, the app:
• Provides weekly question sets to facilitate steady, manageable conversations rather than overwhelming users with too much at once.
• Includes tracking features to help users maintain consistency in their reflections.
• Uses an interface designed for self-reflection, allowing users to record answers and revisit past insights.
- Attraction: Moving Beyond the Surface Level
Attraction isn’t just about physical appearance—it includes emotional and intellectual connection. The app incorporates:
• Curated question pathways, allowing users to focus on different relationship types (e.g., friendships, romantic partnerships, professional relationships).
• A rating system to refine and improve future question sets based on user feedback.
• Prompts for appreciation and admiration, reinforcing positive interactions that contribute to long-term connection.
- Values: Aligning Perspectives for Deeper Compatibility
Understanding and discussing personal values can help strengthen relationships. The app includes:
• Deep-dive sessions focused on life goals, beliefs, and decision-making frameworks.
• Pattern tracking, allowing users to recognize recurring themes in their responses over time.
• Suggested conversation prompts based on previous answers to encourage continuity in discussions.
As this is a prototype, the primary focus is on testing whether structured questioning can meaningfully impact relationship dynamics. Future iterations may refine the question selection process, improve personalization features, and explore new ways to integrate feedback from users.
For now, the app serves as a practical experiment in guided social interaction, encouraging users to engage more intentionally with the people around them.
Tongue-in-cheek dating app for marketing platforms and influencers
This React demo showcases simplifying the collaboration between influencers and businesses. It allows influencers to swipe right or left on collaboration offers, choosing brands or products they wish to promote. Tinder-like interface for easy decision-making.
